Woman Loses Engagement Ring 2 Weeks After Getting Engaged

Bailey Davis had only been engaged for two weeks when the unthinkable happened: She lost her engagement ring. On December 4, 2023, Davis was driving toward Columbus, Ohio, for her job when she decided to make a pit stop at a rest area in Gallia County, Ohio. “I took the ring off, set it on a shelf in the individual family bathroom, and I drove two hours away to Columbus before I realized it wasn’t on my hand,” she recounted to WSAZ-TV.

Once she pieced together where she had left the ring, she was panic-stricken and thought she would never see that priceless piece of jewelry again. “I was shaky,” she recalled. “I was sweating. I felt like I was going to puke.” Instead of losing all hope, Davis decided to post about the missing item on Facebook a little over 24 hours later.

Meanwhile, Coty Warren was using that same restroom when he noticed the engagement ring. “I was washing my hands when all of a sudden, I looked up by the mirror, and there was the ring sitting there,” Warren said. Warren headed to Facebook to see if anyone had posted about the long-lost jewel, so he could track down the owner. That’s when he saw Bailey’s post, which many people had shared. “I gave her a call, and I said, ‘Well, I guess tonight is your lucky night,’” he recalled. “She kind of broke down a little bit and said, ‘Please tell me you have my ring, and I said, ‘Yeah, I got it.’”

Warren said keeping the ring never crossed his mind. “If it would be me in the same situation, I’d hope and pray that someone would do the same for me,” he explained.

Upon hearing the good news, Davis was relieved and so grateful, especially for the power of social media. “I think I underestimated my community a little bit and Facebook,” she admitted. “Who knew that would be the saving grace there?” Of course, he was also grateful for Warren’s nobility. According to the new channel, Davis offered Warren money for his good dead, but he declined, noting that finding the ring was enough of a reward for him.

After getting her engagement ring back, Davis told the news channel that the item had become even more meaningful to her. “I’m just really happy,” she gushed. “I don’t regret that it all happened, which is crazy. I learned quite a few lessons, and now, I feel like I’ve been put in a position to tell people about it, so it’s exciting.”
