Clio Police investigate a robbery at Bits & Pieces Fine Jewelry | Crime

CLIO, Mich. (WJRT) – The Clio Police Department is asking the public for help identifying a suspect that police say was involved in a robbery for a local jewelry store.

On March 18 at approximately 10:02 pm, the Clio Police Department and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office responded to Bits & Pieces Jewelers on West Vienna Street for an entry alarm.

Police say when they arrived, they observed the glass front door smashed and made entry.

According to Clio Police, a male suspect made entry into the building, smashed a display case open and removed several necklace charms. When the suspect walked to the back, police said he was started by the building’s alarm system. The suspect then ran back to the broken display case, collected more necklace charms, and ran out, fleeing the scene on foot.

Police say 120 charms were taken valued at $100 each. Bits and Pieces says the stolen merchandise was valued at more than $10,000.

Police are aware if there are any other suspects.

Bits and Pieces announced on Facebook that they will remain open throughout the time to serve. They add that customers who have current repairs or layaways that their pieces are safe and remain secure in the vault.
